Many people are unsure about counselling, it stands to reason that if you have not experienced something then you will not know what to expect. Elaine is qualified to work in a person centred humanistic way or with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), however above all she will work in a way that suits you, to ensure that you get the most from your counselling sessions.
Some people will find that just a few sessions are enough to find a workable solution to their problems and some may opt for longer term counselling, it is entirely up to you. Elaine's collaborative and down to earth approach to counselling means that you will feel in control of sessions, and you can use them to talk about what you want to - you may wish to have one session, six sessions or more, it is your choice.
Many people have started counselling with Elaine feeling unsure about how counselling will help them and unhappy about their current situation, finding after talking to her that they have renewed hope and new ideas about the way to move forward in their lives.
Elaine is also experienced in helping students of all ages who have relationship issues, low self esteem and anxieties around school, college and university relating to their performance and social activity.
